Tyson is a sweet senior who is currently in a foster home and seeking his forever home. To meet Tyson, contact SJFoster@sanjoseca.gov to schedule a meet and greet with Tyson and his foster.

Tyson tells us:
My name is Tyson and I am an easygoing, well-mannered senior pittie. I love to go on leisurely walks and lie next to you on the couch (if you'll let me!). I get along with my little dog roommate, but haven't met any big dogs. I am curious about the cat, but she's not interested in meeting me. Oh well! I'm a little stiff so a home with few or no steps would be great! My perfect day: up and out to take care of business. Breakfast followed by a walk (under a mile). Next, a treat and a nap. If it's a sunny, warm day, I will be sunbathing! Dinner and another walk. One last trip outside before bed.

Tyson’s foster tells us:
Tyson is truly a nice dog! He is mellow, mild-mannered, and well-behaved. He is housebroken and knows how to use the doggie door. He has shown no signs of aggression, only barks when my little dog starts and allows full handling. He is fine with smaller dogs and wants to sniff the cat, but hasn't been aggressive. He hasn't been around big dogs. He wants to meet every dog when we walk, but mostly wants to sniff them. He is about 11 years old and 60 pounds, but quite healthy except for arthritis in his hind quarters and back. I have steps up to my house and it is hard for him to go up and down. He is on 2 medications for pain and inflammation. He might also be a little deaf. He can pull when walking so I use an Easy Walk No-Pull Harness. Tyson is truly a special guy!
