Rudy was a community cat who was living in a park for a few months. A neighbor noticed he had a injury to his tail and brought him to DAS. Our medical staff found he had wound under his tail, that may have been from an animal bite. The wound has been cleaned and he will be checked for progress on a later day.

VET EXAM 4/10/23
S: Came in as stray with wound near rectum. Patient acting painful

O: BAR; mm pink/moist; CRT < 2 sec
SKIN: Approximately 1 x 0.5 inch open wound on right dorsolateral perineum/ventral tail; Numerous (6-8) puncture wounds present on ventral and dorsal tail with purulent exudate

A: Trauma wounds to tail/perineum likely animal bite

P: Sedated with 0.3 mls dexmedetomidine IM for exam. Clipped hair over wounds and cleaned with chlorhexidine.

Administered meloxicam and convenia.
