Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Ruby is looking for a home that’ll have all her favorite things…a warm place to lie down, some good food, belly rubs, and TENNIS BALLS. This little lady loves to play fetch so be sure to practice throwing some toys around before coming to meet her.

Ruby is a two-year-old German shepherd mix with the sweetest smile. She walks well on a leash, knows her name, and her basic commands. She has a lot of potential to do well with kids given her gentle demeanor and good manners.

She would love to meet her forever family soon. Could it be you? Make an appointment online or come during our walk in hours on Fridays and Saturdays to meet Ruby.

More on Ruby during her foster outing:
- Easy to put harness on and jumped into the car with no hesitation.
- A little unsettled in the car at first, but settled in the back seat just fine.
- Enjoyed walking in the arboretum. Walked past plenty of children (screaming, running, in strollers), people and dogs with no issues.
- Showed signs of playful behavior with another dog and pulled to say hi but was easily corrected with a sit command. They did great walking together.
- Sat for 15 minutes without issue, observing dogs, kids, and people going by.
- Enjoyed getting pets from strangers and was very friendly with everyone she met.
- Walked well on leash.
- Overall, an awesome dog who decompressed quickly. She will be a fantastic companion to someone who enjoys getting out.
