Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
This is Monte, though his full name is Montoya (like Inigo Montoya from "The Princess Bride")! He is a 2-3 year old, neutered lab catahoula lab mix! He loves car rides, camping, hiking, rock climbing, horses, and blankets! He loves dogs who don't get up in his face, and will play fetch for hours (he's not very good at giving the ball back though). He loves people, especially teenagers. I've never had him around kids younger than 10 for extended periods of time, but he seems to really like them. I've also never had a chance to take him swimming, but I'd imagine he'd like the water. I've taken him on several hikes and camping at goblin valley. He loves to climb rocks and is almost fearless when doing so. He loves my horses and is smart enough to stay away from the ones who don't like him. I've never had him around cats. He is also a great snuggler and will sleep at the foot of your bed if you let him. Monte loves people and really just wants to be where the people are. I will send him with whatever food and treats I have left, his harness, his bowls, his toys, his crate, and his blankets. I can't say enough good things about him, it breaks my heart to need to find him a better home, but there are no other options right now. I just want what's best for him.
