Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Toby is easy to leash up from his kennel and walks without pulling. When we got to the fenced in run, he really just preferred to bask in the sun as close to me as possible. He snuggled in and closed his eyes and was super gentle about it. He also gave the sweetest face kisses.

Toby is not jumpy or mouthy, knows sit, and is gentle when taking treats. I wanted to see if I could get his puppy side to come out, so I ran around, and I saw his playful side come out. He wasn’t intense at all, but seeing glimpses of joy in him made me smile. If I stopped running, he would just come over for more loving—not jumping or barreling me over.

Toby was dog tested with a larger fluffy and he seemed a bit unsure but no aggression was seen. Toby was playful and appropriate with another young dog similar in looks to himself. I think Toby would benefit from some time to decompress from the scary shelter, get healthy, and show off his playful side, and I bet he’d love an outgoing doggy sibling to help bring him out of his shell a bit.

I absolutely adore this sweet boy. Please come meet him before his time is up. I promise, you will fall in love too.

Toby was originally surrendered to the shelter by his owner for “no time”…sigh. He’s not even a year old, so please make sure you’re ready for 10-15 years of pet parenting bliss before bringing any pet home! Toby, another handsome brindle boy, is pretty good on leash and outside met Baden, a male wheaten terrier mix, and he did fine with him. He seemed a little unsure at first but I think he’s just young and socially unsure. In the interaction room, Toby just sat at my feet for some lovin’. Toby loved playing with a plush toy! He self-entertains by tossing the toy by himself. Lots of wagsand soft body language. Very playful boy. He did a funny play boy the first time I asked him for a sit…then he did sit. He enjoys treats and would like to know how much you have allocated in your budget for his stash of treats. He’s open to negotiations.
