Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Max is a super sweet 6 year old boy who is looking for a new family to share his sugar with. He was adopted from us a few years back, but a family member's health issues has brought him back to us. Max is housetrained and lived with young children. He's friendly with other animals, crate trained, loving and affectionate, playful, easy-going, and listens to basic commands. Sounds pretty awesome to us! Plus, who doesn't enjoy a smiling face to look at every day? Max would love to meet you today, so come visit us at BAS!

Dog Day Out, 5/10/24:
Max and I began our adventure by heading to Burlington City Park, where he did amazing with the car ride. He stayed in the backseat and sat like a human passenger for most of the ride! He loved to stick his head out the window and smell the fresh air. I offered him a few toys to play with, but he was pretty uninterested. When we got to the park, we noticed there was an event happening, where there were about a hundred kids and some loud music. But this didn't seem to bother Max at all! He showed no signs of anxiousness and just continued on his walk. Max loves being outside and taking in all the smells. He does amazing on leash, and only pulled whenever he saw a squirrel (but what pup wouldn't!) Next, Max took a much-needed nap. He is seriously the cutest thing ever when he sleeps. Lastly, we went on a walk around Elon's campus. He LOVED meeting people and getting pets, and would look longingly when someone walked past him without saying hello! As I stopped to talk with some friends, he patiently sat on my feet waiting for the okay to keep walking. He also did not bark the entire day. Max really is the perfect pup and is already so excited to meet you!

Volunteer notes, 4/18/24:
Max was calm and laid back in the play yard today. His stomach is sensitive so he didn't get any treats but he was very interested in them and would obey commands like "sit" or "come" in the hopes of getting one. He was a polite, friendly boy!
