Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Augie is a really great boy - and such a stunning color. He is a happy boy that would love to warm a lap (even if he is a big boy). He didn't get along with the cats or the dog in his previous home when there was food, so he would best as an only dog - to give all his love exclusively to his new family. Augie is smart and knows basic commands. He will require daily exercise, as do all big dogs.
We've also learned that Augie just LOVES to fetch. He ran after the ball for a long time, bringing it back each time within our reach. He would be a great addition to a family - a lot of love and fun!
Our PAWs volunteers found Augie to be a sweet, big boy. He walked well on a harness and has walked well with several different groups of dogs in the park and wasn't distracted by other dogs, bikes, or runners - as a plus, he checks in with his walker often. He even watched a chipmunk walk right by and ignored him. Augie rode great in the car and knows the commands for ‘here’ and ‘sit’. Overall they thought he was a good boy and loved the kisses he gave.

*notes about TJO and our dogs:
- To adopt a dog, all family members (human and canine) must meet.
- Our profiles are written before the dogs see our vet. Medical information can be found by asking one of our adoption counselors.
- Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
