HAS BEEN ON NEEDS RESCUE SINCE MARCH 2024 05/12/24 08:51 Reason animal needs rescue: Behavior and mental health significantly declining since being in shelter. Extended length of stay. Type: Behavior Date animal needs rescue by: ASAP, has been on needs rescue since March Impound type: Stray Off stray hold: Yes Additional notes: Shadow is declining in shelter, and his resource guarding and kennel presence pose a safety concern to shelter staff, as well as make him a poor adoption candidate. Shelter will castrate once rescue placement is secured. Recommending humane euthanasia if rescue is unable to pull by the end of this month. He is rapidly declining in the shelter, and our staff is not comfortable handling him. It is inhumane to continue housing him in such a stressful environment. He is a young, high energy, intelligent dog and needs an outlet for his energy. The shelter is not a good place for him. Poor kennel presence and size makes him not likely to be adopted. No behavior concerns noted. Can castrate once rescue placement is secured. SD 04/29/24 17:50 Patient continues to exhibit significant signs of kennel stress, including jumping and barking and growling in kennel despite medical therapy. Recommend rescue ASAP. |
