Meet Emmylou, a very, very sweet girl who came to us as a stray a couple of weeks ago. We estimate her to be about 6 years old. This little girl has likely lacked good nutrition and care for much, if not all, of her life. She was quite thin at intake and may have rickets which is caused by poor nutrition in utero or as a young puppy, and causes soft, deformed bones; hence, she is a bit bowlegged. But sweet Emmylou doesn't let any of this stop her in the slightest. Nope! She just smiles, wags, and trots around the play yard, happy to be in your ... Click my picture to read more about me.

Foster notes, 12/4/23:
Pie is an extremely affectionate dog that has lived most of his life in the shelter. He would benefit from some training as he can be hyper but this is at no fault of his own. Having another playmate helps with his energy. Because Pie hasn’t had a lot of interactions with other dogs and been able to be a pup himself, all he wants to do is play while the other dogs are wanting to rest. Smile and get your zoomies going! This happy chap is Vic and he came to BAS as a stray. He had a couple of boo boos that might have been the result of being hit by a car. But he has been checked out by our awesome vet team and seems to be fit as a fiddle. We estimate him to be around a year or so old, and he is quite friendly and playful! We believe he gets along with other dogs and would make a great family pet for just about anyone.

Foster notes, 12/5/23:
Rockafella is a good boy. He is a senior guy who has done well to meet and continue to greet the neighborhood children. He is anxious around unknown people and pets. So far, I have been unable to do much about his dislike of cats. It seems to be one of the only things that set him off. He takes 2 walks per day (am and pm), and gets to go out off leash in the back yard as often as he asks. He is arthritic in his joints and cannot jump, so he doesn't get on the house furniture because of this. I have a ramp for him to ge... Click my picture to read more about me. |
