*NONA

(A145273)

Location:
I'm in FOSTER
I am a spayed female, black and white dog who is estimated to be 3 years old. Shelter staff named me Nona.

I was found as a stray in Burlington and I have been at the shelter since Jun 23, 2022.

I am available for adoption! Email fosterpets@burlingtonnc.gov to meet me.

Volunteer notes on Nona:

Do you need a daily dose of sunshine to warm your heart? Beat the heat and adopt Nona instead! This 2-year-old ebony princess is sweet, trusting and loving to her very core. When we are together her main goal is to get as close as possible and solicit my affection. Her positive energy is contagious, like a rush of endorphins that rejuvenate and revitalize my spirit. All is ok in my world once Nona offers her kisses. I have no doubt this mama gave her multiple litters of pups her absolute best. I could sit and rev... Click my picture to read more about me.

Zoom, zoom! Nova LOVES to show off her speedy zoomies and play keep away! This little girl is not quite 2 years old, so she is young and spirited. Nova came to us from another shelter to see if she might have better luck finding her forever home here. We sure hope so because this sweetie has spent too much of her young life in a shelter, and it's not the most ideal place for her--way too much stimulation. Nova did live in a foster home for a little while and did fine, so we know a home is exactly what she needs. Nova can be dog reactive, but sh... Click my picture to read more about me.

New foster notes, 2/21/24:
Dixie is almost finished with her heartworm treatment and is doing well but isn't allowed to get excited or play too much for another couple of weeks. She's sweet but doesn't want anyone but me to take her to potty. She loves my great grandkids who are 2 years to 10 years old. She barks when anyone comes to the house but will stop after about 2 minutes when she starts feeling comfortable. She looks out the storm door at other dogs walking by and will bark. She is house trained and will stand in front of you and jus... Click my picture to read more about me.

Dog Day Out, 5/13/24:
This sweet girl was a joy! She not only sat perfectly for the car ride but was more than eager to explore! Don’t let her age fool you--she has a lot of pep in her step and definitely leads the way with a wagging tail! She loves treats and may know the 'paw' command a little. When we rested she even laid down a bit and rolled over for a belly rub. Pandora has a lot of life to share!

Dog Day Out notes, 5/10/24:
Pandora went to the Haw River Community Park for a nice stroll and squirrel watching. She then had a n... Click my picture to read more about me.

Did you know Buttercups represent humility, joy, new beginnings, happiness, and friendship? That's a lot for such a sweet, tiny flower. But we think it's a fitting name for this stunning, perky-eared girl. Buttercup came to us as a stray last week and we estimate her to be at least a year or so old. Is no one missing this beautiful girl??? She is a friendly, happy, wiggle-butt pup, and she is ready for a whole new beginning in a home where she can share her joy, friendship and love. Buttercup is at BAS and she is waiting to meet you.... Click my picture to read more about me.

I was surrendered and I have been at the shelter since Mar 26, 2024.

I am available for adoption! Email fosterpets@burlingtonnc.gov to meet me.

Foster notes, 5/17/24:
Bear is a very sweet girl who loves playing with her house mates. She loves running outside and relaxing inside. She is the perfect mix of energy and laid back. Bear takes an interest in cats that I think is inappropriate; she will run them off and or provoke them when they come near her. Otherwise, she is great with people of all ages. She is very gentle with children and has a very nurturing personality. Bear was not house trained when we first took her in but it did not take her long to catch the drift of the other ... Volunteer notes, 5/7/24:
Flossy Joe is a high-energy, athletic lady who loves to show off her speed and agility. As my husband says, she's the wide receiver you want on your canine fantasy football team! I love her pretty camouflage coat. She is sweet and friendly and eventually calms down. Before that happens, keep in mind that everything is a potential toy and she can sniff out a hidden treat like a bloodhound! We worked on "sit" this time but she was more interested in entertaining us with her lightning-fast moves!
