Rockafella is a good boy. He is a senior guy who has done well to meet and continue to greet the neighborhood children. He is anxious around unknown people and pets. So far, I have been unable to do much about his dislike of cats. It seems to be one of the only things that set him off. He takes 2 walks per day (am and pm), and gets to go out off leash in the back yard as often as he asks. Rocky is extremely calm, loyal, affectionate, and sweet to anyone who he is comfortable around. Once he loves you, he always will. He is very laid back and loves belly rubs and going on walks.
He is uncomfortable around strangers and is protective of his people. He also does not play well with other animals. Although he can be defensive and assertive with other people/animals, Rocky is an amazing and loving dog when in the right environment. Meet Sherman! This guy is one big hunk of burning love. This big boy may look tough, but inside he's all sugar. Sherman is bursting with love and cannot wait to show everyone! He is bold and confident and LOVES meeting new people! He is super sweet and affectionate and has the best cuddles. He is currently in a foster home, and his foster mom says that he is house trained, non-destructive (always a plus!), and super laid back (he spends most of his day sleeping!). Foster notes, 4/29/24:
Tank is a joy to have. He is very loving and when not showing his age (15 years), he acts like a pup when he plays. He plays with his toys on his own or when someone else wants to play tug of war with him. He loves to eat and sleep and loves getting treats. He dislikes other pets and animals in general so this means he would have to be the only pet in the home. Tank loves going on outings and for car rides as well. He does quite well in a car. He is fully housebroken and does very well when walking him on a leash.

Tiny is quick to make friends with any humans; she loves pets and cuddles. She thrives when she can spend time outdoors and can be in a yard unsupervised. She enjoys 1-3 mile walks daily. She is very alert around other dogs and can be guarded. If going to a home with another dog, a proper introduction is necessary. She is housetrained. She gets a little sad when left home alone but has no destructive behaviors. She knows "sit" and "heel".

Smile and get your zoomies going! This happy chap is Vic and he came to BAS as a stray. He had a couple of boo boos that might have been the result of being hit by a car. But he has been checked out by our awesome vet team and seems to be fit as a fiddle. We estimate him to be around a year or so old, and he is quite friendly and playful! We believe he gets along with other dogs and would make a great family pet for just about anyone.
