This autumn beauty is Bella, and it's the perfect name for her! What a sweet face! She is 4 years old and according to her foster mom, she is an absolute cuddle bug who LOVES people. She is housetrained, walks well on leash, and is a fantastic girl. Her only negative is that she can be reactive towards other dogs, so she will be happiest and most successful as the only dog in the home. Copper is a young boy at around a year old. He is a friendly boy who bonds quickly and is very affectionate. If you're sitting, he wants to be in your lap! He already knows the sit command, and entertains himself very well with chew toys and plush toys. He has fetch down pat, but don't count on him bringing the ball back to you right away--'chase' is another favorite game! Dog Day Out, 1/30/24:
We took Luna for a walk through the woods near the shelter and then for a car ride to Elon University. She was somewhat timid there and seemed to want to go for another car ride.

He seems to do very well in a crate. Knows how to sit, lay down and wait. He likes to bite the leash but just out of boredom I think, he shouldn't take too long to drop that habit, he seems very intelligent. Had no reaction to hearing my dogs barking, although I did not introduce him to dogs or cats so I can't comment on that. He was so sweet, loves toys (especially soft ones) and seems to be a snuggler. Dixie is almost finished with her heartworm treatment and is doing well but isn't allowed to get excited or play too much for another couple of weeks. She's sweet but doesn't want anyone but me to take her to potty. She loves my great grandkids who are 2 years to 10 years old. She barks when anyone comes to the house but will stop after about 2 minutes when she starts feeling comfortable. She looks out the storm door at other dogs walking by and will bark. Tiny is quick to make friends with any humans; she loves pets and cuddles. She thrives when she can spend time outdoors and can be in a yard unsupervised. She enjoys 1-3 mile walks daily. She is very alert around other dogs and can be guarded. If going to a home with another dog, a proper introduction is necessary. She is housetrained. She gets a little sad when left home alone but has no destructive behaviors. She knows "sit" and "heel".

Dale is estimated to be around 8 years young and he is such a nice boy with an equally nice personality. He came to BAS as a stray and has a fairly minor eye condition we are taking care of with meds and treatment. Soon enough, that will be cleared up and this happy guy will be seeing so well, he might help you spot Santa and his reindeer during their Christmas Eve flight! After 7 years of not owning a dog, Gladdis is a breath of fresh air. She’s an absolute sweetheart and I can tell she loves the outdoors. She was hesitant getting in my car the first time so I put her in which she didn’t mind. I met with my dad and we took her to Morgan Creek Trail in Chapel Hill and the Saxapahaw Island Park, and she did really well on the drive to both areas. Ellie is a sweet senior girl. She’s is extremely friendly with people, dogs, and other animals, and is very gentle with everyone. She has some broken teeth which makes it hard for her to chew at times, so we water down her food for her. She’s completely potty trained and doesn’t bark or chew or destroy anything. She enjoys meeting new people,is cuddly and affectionate, and walks well on leash.
